Dear Ted,

On Wednesday, June 19th, WACLV will host a presentation by His Excellency Professor Kantathi Suphamongkhon on the geostrategic implications of a rising China and a pivoting U.S. on East and Southeast Asia. North Korea’s nuclear program and the challenges it presents for the region and the world will be one focus of his remarks.
Professor Suphamongkhon was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand in 2005-2006, and has been Thailand’s Trade Representative and its Ambassador to the United Nations. He served two terms in Parliament and is also Adviser to Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn.
Professor Suphamongkhon is presently a Visiting Professor of Law and Diplomacy at UCLA as well as Senior Fellow at UCLA’s Burkle Center for International Relations. He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Southern California, and a
Master’s degree in International Studies from American University.
