Dear Ted
Las Vegas continues to step up to the plate when presented international opportunities!
In one year Las Vegas has become the 2nd largest all-volunteer host for U.S. State Department participants in the International Visitors Leadership Program. Many thanks to the City of Henderson, Zappos, Downtown Project, STITCH, Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Springs Preserve, Brooking Mountain West and many others for participating in recent programs.
You will have the opportunity to take part in programs during July and August. Please see the list of opportunities below and express your interest for home hospitality, embedded volunteer or cultural host.
WACLV was named community partner of the year by West Technical Career Academy. WTCA has participated in numerous U.S. State Department visitor programs and has been identified as a role model for STEM education.
Additionally, WACLV was awarded a grant to develop a human trafficking program in September. Look for more details about this important subject in future communications. Our board and staff continue to apply for programming grants that will benefit the community.
Our goal is to enhance global understanding through creative and strategic engagement of all aspects of the community in international opportunities. Please join us at our June 19th event with His Excellency Professor Kantathi Suphamongkhon, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and volunteer to engage with one of our U.S. State Department visitor groups.

Matthew McNeelege, President,
World Affairs Council of Las Vegas
