April 2013 Newsletter
Many of you remember when Former Governor and Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge came to address the Las Vegas community. Mr. Ridge told the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition he wanted to give another talk. He was asked “Where would you like to go?” He responded – “Las Vegas.” You will find details in this newsletter on how you can register to attend this NO CHARGE breakfast discussion with Mr. Ridge.
Las Vegas hosted three U.S. State Department International Visitor Leadership groups over the last two weeks! We are particularly proud of introducing a group from Pakistan to our entrepreneurial community, a group from Algeria to the Culinary Arts in Las Vegas, and helping to create relationships for public/private partnerships in Haiti. Over the last 18 months we have hosted 142 visitors from 65 countries!
It was remarkable to observe our Pakistani visitors building relationships in the entrepreneurial community. They remarked – “We want to partner with Las Vegas because it is in start up mode and easier to work with.” We will be hosting another entrepreneur group from 11 countries in the Western Hemisphere at the end of April.
Your participation in events and with our visitors is drawing attention to Las Vegas. We never know where relationships will lead – but we do know your relationships will lead to great opportunities for you and for Las Vegas!
Lastly, please take a moment to answer a questionnaire – the link appears below. Your opinions matter. You can help us better meet your needs by answering a short 10 question survey.
