What is the common denominator for these iconic “American” brands?:
Budweiser, IBM ThinkPad, Alka Seltzer, Hellmann’s mustard, Ben & Jerry’s, 7-Eleven, Popsicle, Woman’s Day magazine, Purina, Gerber, Vaseline, Lucky Strike, Firestone, Car and Driver magazine. They are now all owned by non-“American” companies.
We need to stop thinking as if we “own” the global economic pond, and begin thinking about working in and competing in the global economic pond.
We can do this, IF we stop our internal bickering over issues that are really not relevant in the New World Economy.
Neither preserving a 20th Century “New Deal” America nor an 18th Century Founding Fathers’ Agrarian America will suffice. Time to think differently! . . . Good luck huh?! 🙂
