The Jefferson Bible, or Jefferson called it “The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth”. It was a “cut and paste” job from several Bibles (he wished he had Word for PC). One goal of Jefferson’s “Christian System” project was to separate what was most likely “Factual” – possible under the “Laws of Nature” – and that of “Superstition”, i.e. “miracles”, not possible under the “Laws of Nature”. Jefferson never intended to published his works, though copies survive and are in the Smithsonian.
